The 2023 Hyundai i20 Facelift is set to receive a series of subtle design changes. The front fascia will showcase a new cascading grille, updated LED daytime running lights (DRLs), and a revised bumper design. Additionally, the Hyundai logo will be repositioned to the hood, distinguishing it from the current model. At the rear, the taillights will resemble those of the globally sold i20 facelift, and the hatchback will likely sport new alloy wheels.
Cabin Updates:
While the cabin layout will remain familiar, the Hyundai i20 facelift is expected to introduce a new upholstery color. In terms of features, the updated hatchback might include a digital driver's display, ventilated front seats, a dual-camera dash cam, and multi-color ambient lighting. Safety features are anticipated to comprise six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), and possibly advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) technology, aligning it with the Hyundai Venue's recent update.
Powertrain Options:
Hyundai is likely to retain the existing petrol engine choices for the i20 facelift. This includes a 1.2-liter petrol engine (83PS/114Nm) with options for a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT gearbox, and a 1-liter turbo-petrol engine (120PS/172Nm) with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). Moreover, the 1.0-liter engine will now offer a 6-speed manual transmission, providing more choice to buyers.
Expected Launch & Competition:
The Hyundai i20 facelift is anticipated to make its India debut in November 2023, commanding a premium over the current model, which is priced between Rs 7.46 lakh and Rs 11.88 lakh (ex-showroom). These changes in design, features, and transmission options are also likely to apply to the i20 N Line variant, expected to launch concurrently. Once released, the i20 facelift will continue its rivalry with the Tata Altroz, Maruti Baleno, and Toyota Glanza.
