Jio AirFiber Reaches New Heights: Expands Coverage to Coimbatore, Mysore, Rajkot, Warangal, and More Cities

Jio AirFiber, leveraging 5G FWA (Fixed Wireless Access), targets individuals lacking access to traditional fiber broadband. Initially launched in eight Indian cities—Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Pune—Jio AirFiber's availability was recently extended to 115 cities, as announced on the eve of Diwali. The comprehensive list includes various regions across states like Andhra Pradesh, Delhi NCR, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and West Bengal.

This service provides access to over 550 digital TV channels and subscriptions to 16+ OTT apps, appealing to users in areas without fiber connectivity. Jio AirFiber acts as a Wi-Fi alternative, ensuring robust connectivity in locations lacking traditional broadband infrastructure. The service supports smart home functionalities such as surveillance, IoT, gaming, and home systems. Alongside AirFiber, users receive a 4K smart set-top box and a voice-enabled remote.

To avail the service, Jio installs an outdoor unit on the terrace or outside the home, with a nominal installation charge of Rs. 1,000. However, this fee may be waived with an annual plan subscription.

Jio AirFiber plans start at Rs. 599 per month (excluding GST), offering speeds of up to 30 Mbps with unlimited downloads. These plans also grant access to various OTT services, including JioCinema, Sony Liv, Disney+ Hotstar, ZEE5, Sun NXT, Hoichoi, Lionsgate Play, Discovery+, ShemarooMe, DocuBay, ALTBalaji, Universal+, and EPIC.

Additionally, Jio offers Rs. 899 and Rs. 1199 monthly plans under the AirFiber service. Users can choose annual or six-month subscription plans for added flexibility.

In contrast, Airtel's Air Fiber service is presently accessible in limited Indian regions, specifically Noida, Faridabad, and Ghaziabad. Nevertheless, Airtel aims to expand its availability to more cities in the near future.

Jio AirFiber aims to bridge the connectivity gap in areas where traditional fiber broadband isn't readily available, providing reliable and accessible internet services along with an array of entertainment options for users.
