Kartik Aaryan says he ‘gave up’ Shehzada fees because film was going through a ‘money crisis’

Kartik Aaryan: Actor, Producer, and Upcoming Ventures

Kartik Aaryan, the young and vibrant actor, found himself in an unusual role – that of a producer – on the set of “Shehzada,” a remake of Allu Arjun's successful Telugu film “Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.” The film faced hurdles and financial strains during production, prompting Kartik to selflessly sacrifice a portion of his wages to ensure its completion. Despite his commendable effort, the movie failed to captivate the audience upon its release earlier this year, resulting in disappointing box office figures.

In a recent revelation during an interview with Film Companion, Kartik clarified his producer credit, stating, “I was not a producer-producer as such. I was given that credit on the basis that the film was going into a money crisis, and I gave up on my fees. I also gave some money so that the structure could be made and the film doesn't get stuck.” His humility shone through as he expressed that he was merely playing a supportive role, yet the actual producers graciously acknowledged his contributions, attributing the producer credit to ensure the movie's smooth progression.

Setting the record straight, Kartik emphasized that his primary focus remains on his acting career, with no immediate intentions to venture into film production. Currently, he is dedicatedly involved in diverse projects that showcase his versatility as an actor.

One such project is Kabir Khan's “Chandu Champion,” a biopic centered on Murlikant Petkar, India's pioneering Paralympic gold medalist, honored with a Padma Shri in 2018. Additionally, Kartik has “Aashiqui 3” under the directorship of Anurag Basu, though the female lead is yet to be finalized. Addressing this, Kartik revealed, “There's no one right now. For now, main apne aapse hi aashiqui kar raha hun (I am romancing myself). Basu sir will soon find one. He is very clear with what he wants. He will go with whoever he thinks fits the part.”

Kartik's fans eagerly anticipate his involvement in the next installment of the successful horror-comedy franchise, “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2.” Speaking about the franchise's third part, he shared, “The script of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is locked. I recently had its narration. A lot of things are being revamped and a new story is going to be there. This time the horror element is increased. I can't talk more about it, but we will soon start shooting for it. It will go on floors in the next four months. I am excited to be playing Rooh Baba again and do what he does.”

Prior to the horror-comedy success of “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2,” Kartik Aaryan delivered several hits, including “Luka Chuppi,” “Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety,” “Pati Patni Aur Woh,” and “Pyar Ka Punchnama 2.” His impressive filmography underscores his ability to resonate with audiences across various genres, making him a sought-after talent in Bollywood.
