Weather update: IMD predicts heavy rainfall in THESE states till November 28; see full forecast

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a comprehensive weather advisory predicting varied precipitation patterns and weather conditions across multiple regions in India until November 28. The forecast encompasses diverse weather phenomena and potential developments across different parts of the country.

During November 25-27, the IMD anticipates light to moderate rainfall accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and lightning in Konkan and Goa and Madhya Maharashtra. Similar weather warnings have been issued for Marathwada until November 28 and for Gujarat state until November 26.

Furthermore, IMD foresees thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and possible hail at isolated places in specific regions. These include south and north Madhya Maharashtra on November 26, southwest Madhya Pradesh and Marathwada on November 26-27, and East Madhya Pradesh on November 27.

Anticipated heavy rainfall is expected over southeast Rajasthan, southwest Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Gujarat Region, north Konkan, north Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathwada on November 26.

Additionally, the IMD forecasts light rainfall in isolated areas over the Western Himalayan Region and plains of Northwest India between November 26 and 28. There is a prediction of thunderstorms and lightning in isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on November 27.

Simultaneously, a cyclonic circulation is projected to emerge in the South Andaman Sea and its vicinity by November 26. This system is expected to evolve into a low-pressure area over the South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal around November 27. Subsequently, it is likely to move west-northwestwards, intensifying into a depression over the Southeast Bay of Bengal by November 29, according to the IMD's analysis.

In light of these developments, fishermen have been advised to refrain from venturing into the South Andaman Sea during November 27-29 and the Southeast Bay of Bengal on November 28 and 29.

Moreover, a notable decline in minimum temperatures by 2-4 degrees Celsius is expected across many parts of Northwest, West, and Central India from November 28, 2023.
